Not sure exactly what happened today, looks like some sort of hacking attempt on the site.. I'll let you's know as soon as I can trace it. Read more...
Just to make people aware of the profile types setting. If you want to brand yourself as you can see on my Avatar here, you can go to edit profile (from the top user menu), look for the bar that says "Your current profile type: Painter [ Change ] " and click change and select whatever suits you. If you select the profile that say's other it will not generate any watermark. I may see if I can jazz them up a tad when I get some time, since we have such a good mix here I figure its a good option to let others see where your coming from. Read more...
The paper is amazing with a dust free setup, I use it with the 3M vac sanders. The paper lasts way longer compared to the 3M gold, I am not that familiar with carborundum paper. It would be cost effective only if its in a place where guys are using the disc to its entire life, low-waste shop. Read more...
I see a lot of people are fans of the plastic welder, we actually just picked one up and its been working great. I'd still be interested to see strength comparisons, my assumption would be epoxy to be stronger as I presume the rods are just a thermoplastic compared to the thermosetting epoxy. I don't really know the ins and outs of that technology tho.
For epoxy repairs I believe a very gradual taper is prefered to the V-grove.I've seen several fella's skip that and just hit it with 80 and slapped the epoxy to er without problems. Not exactly how I'd do it but what a ya gonna do. Read more...

So since I was moving the server I figured I'd better just do the other upgrade and get it all out of the way. Looking for feedback and finalize my things to do list. Things I'll be doing soon:
Fixing the latest posts on the homepage (does a funky slide thing I find very annoying)
Get a Submit Button for the Shoutbox
Review the forum categories
Setting up new moderator accounts
Restoring Shop Directory
Change activity screen to link to the last post rather then first & shrink the height
Customize the profile fields
Simplify the Facebook Login
Restore Forum header tabs
The site unfortunately had to be redesigned, it wasn't a simple copy/paste upgrade. I hope users are noticing better loading speeds as that was what prompted the upgrade, several emails,pm's..etc about it. I'm pretty content with the layout, if anyone has any suggestions throw them out there and I'll see what can be done. My goal is to have a professional look that's simple to use. Thx for your patience all! Read more...
If your reading this then you made it to the new server. I ended up doing the upgrade to the site software now too, figured might as well get it all out of the way now (about 10hrs and counting, been putting it off a while). Over the next few days I'll be working to restore things to normal, however you will all need to help me out and reset your avatars. I was going to wait until it was all done before switching the site on but I didn't want to leave anyone deprived of RN any longer then I had too. Read more...
