Where is all the discussion about this gun. So much about Sata but not much about the new gun. I just bought a brand new rp 1.3 as i got too good a deal to pass up- but as i am building new shop and booth at present have not sprayed a thing with it. I hoped the pros here would have more feedback on the new Satajet by now but the whole net seems devoid of info about it. Cmon people please start something about it. I do resto work so i may only spray clear every three months or more. I have everything sata ever made but am partial to the 4000 despite its fragile nature. Hoping more discussion is forthcoming

thankyou for your input. I’ll be edging a bunch of parts on a ford superduty in am with my new 5000 rp look forward to fallin in love with it. Never disliked any of my satajets but loved some more than others. What clears are you using? i am a diamont guy as well but lately been using metalux.

After edging 3 panels this am all i can say is Wow did Sata get it right or what with this freakin rp version or what. My tack coat flowed so well i coulda been done with it. I would never usually waste this much clear on the back side of panels but i wanted to see what she would do- so after 10 minutes i hammered another fat wet coat on and man what a finish. you guys using a 1.4 must be using a very thick clear cause I was using some limco 4100 unreduced and the 1.3 was puttin it out. Nice gun Iwata is absolutely screwed.

Your lucky to have a jobber who will do that-my guys quit demoing guns 10 years ago. Are you in Canada ? I guess if your shop hits the magic number in sales that changes things-but I’m retired and do em one at a time. Peace

Yeah, i get to use em everyday too-right after i pay for em,lol and my collection is vast. I guess sme guys like shiny fast women or fast horses, or maybe fast cars but i like shiny fast spray guns-the german kind anyway. i was surprised at how fast this new gun really is. I think its every bit as fast as my jet 90’s.

    Hey CDYDYKSTRA
DId you have a learning curve with this gun as far as solvent pop? After 2 days and 5 panels ive noticed even with clears ive used for years with no pop, that im getting noticable solvent pop even with longer flash times than im used too, It seems this guns extra output might take some extra flash time and its really funny as my new booth flows 2x as good as my old one.. Love to get your input as you production guys hammer on so many more gallons per year so you would know-still love the gun but i need to get this worked out-thanks

Morning 2dig with a slower drying clear I had a little solvent pop I just dialed in the fluid a bit but most of the time I’m using a production clear so its setting up a lot faster. The 5000 does lay on the material so I would just back off the wet coats to maybe a medium wet coat and see what happens

3000 dig rp 1.3 for completes and 4000 rp 1.3/1.4 for panel. I have everything ever made by Sata and most by devilbiss but lately wanted to replace the 3000 with the 5000 for clear. Probably just need to give more flash time but i was just using limco 4100 which kinda made me wonder. This is probably the fastest rp gun ever made imho.
