I purchased new gmc sierra truck it has a lot more orange peel than it should ,does it have enough clear coat to wet sand and buff? what grades of sand paper should be used? I have 3m foam compounding and polishing pads and their different compounds i have buffed out a few older cars any help would be appreciated

This would be an issue that would be covered under warranty, no need to correct yourself. As far has how much clearcoat is on there, you won’t know until you go through.

Generally speaking , if memory serves me correct , there is average of 1.5 – 2 mils of Clearcoat on an OEM finish.
