Just wondering if anyone here has an accudraft spray booth? I'm considering installing one and was just looking for some unbiased feedback

I looked at Accudraft, GFS and Garmat when i put my booth in. the final choice was between accudraft and garmat. I went with garmat because I always had a woody for their booths. The accudraft was also slightly more expensive and I wasnt fond of the blue color. They are a good booth though and you wont be disapointed if you get one. I know a few shops around me that have them and they have no complaints. Who are you dealing with for the accudraft?

Gem tools. He's a guy i've used for alot of equipment. I could go with a chinse booth named Zhangda. It's a good quality booth but its not as customizable. I need something very specific for my area because i'm tight for space.

im too shopping for a booth and i found the future cure booth people to be the most informative and helpful. i was searching for a booth that was a bit higher than the standard 9ft height and they quoted me a nice price for a custom 10 footer. probably something to think about if you might be doing larger vehicles like the sprinter vans.

Stay away from the chinese booths. I dont think they actually have the proper ETL listings. it'll be a nightmare getting one up to code to pass inspection. I have a Garmat 3000 27' long. dual skin with 1.5mil BTU air makeup. Mine is also on a raised basement instead of a dug pit. Installed with dry chem fire suppression was just over 55k. they wanted around 4-5 more more the accudraft. things are tight nowadays and you can likely work them some and get a real good deal. The FutureCure is manufactured about 45 minutes away from me. decent quality but still not up to par with garmat/gfs/accuspray and not any cheaper in price either

a lot of guys in the area have the chinese booth i'm speaking of. It's not much less than the accudraft to be honest. I don't think the future cure can be installed in NYC.
I'm getting quotes of alot more than you. I got a quote on the accudraft. 60,000 just for the booth. 12k for fire suppression, that's including the mixing room. Another 8,000 for the architect. The whole booth is probably going to cost me 90k. The rules and permits and stuff needed in NYC is ridiculous

ya. NY is tough. Do they allow dry chem for the fire suppression. I know one guy was telling me he had to install a sprinkler system. I would see if you can work the guys a bit.
Also with either one of those modified downdrafts, you will not need a basement. Garmat was the first out with that setup with the mechanicals on the roof and the exhaust on the back wall. Its really similar to a semidown draft set up, but I have heard from a few paint reps that they actually work pretty well. See if you can get some references from the booth company to shops that have what you are looking for. then you can check them out and see if it's what you thought
