2005 E500. New drivers door. Repair left rear door. Blend left. Blend right. Yada, yada...

Paint code: 744
Sealer: Reduced SPI 2K Regular primer as sealer.
Basecoat: Limco Supreme low VOC base.
Clear: 3 coats SPI Euro 2020 (4:1:1.5).

2009 Toyota RAV4. New front and rear bumper covers. Repair left fender. New tailgate. Yada, yada...

Paint code: I forgot!
Sealer: SPI Adhesion promoter for bumpers. Reduced SPI 2K primer for tailgate.
Basecoat: Transtar NoMix.
Clear: 3 coats SPI MS clear

It's a hit and miss with either base. But mostly hits. The Nomix covers well and color generally good.
The Limco Supreme, which i don't use much, can be either very good or just crap. But the BASF color chips
are very good to choose from which Transtar Nomix doesn't have.

*Mothers Reflections Advanced Car Wax for the rest of the surfaces. Meguiars All Season Dressing
for the tires and wheel wells. For added bling bling.

Lookin pretty slick, like the look of that polishing pad. Toyota colors I've always found among the trickier ones, especially for spot repair! But at least the guys at the color labs have a sense of humor, I always chuckle when I come across 4Q2
Believe none of what you hear, half of what you see..... and then you'll have some idea what's going on

Majority of the jobs this year has been more meaty and customer pay. Last year was terrible, guess they were
waiting for their cars to get more banged up.

These wool pads are seriously good: http://micro-surface.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=58&zenid=1cf5753cdea025004610da6f4eb75f10

But you'll want a foamed backing plate: http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-solo-easy-buff-w66-rotary-backing-plate-6-inch.html

Han, I have 2 gal of the 2020 that I have never been able to get to shoot well. Maybe I am not reducing it enough. I would love to use it since it is so inexpensive. How much are you reducing the primer to use as a sealer? Projects look great! I need to find a jobber that can set me up with a NO-Mix sample.

Thanks fellas!

Kent,

Try reducing the Euro 2020 4:1:1.5 or 4:1:2 and maybe just 4:1 for one coat deals. The 2K i reduce around 20%

With base, it comes down to the person mixing it regardless of brand. Hope you find a good source as i have.
I no longer do enough volume to justify getting a system in. Well, i do now, but last year was so traumatic,
i'm holding off. I've been scared straight! But i digress...

Get these wool pads. I've tried so many and thought they're all more or less the same. Wrong...

Thats some nice work you do Han!

Don't forget it's not about how much work you do it's about how much you make off of the work you do. you seem to have the quality down it just takes time to build up a customer base.

Thanks Ryan!

I've made lots of progress. Just not financially. Too busy working in the shop, rather than on the shop... :)
