My 2002 Olds Intrigue is Code 5322--Lt Driftwood Metallic(Gold)--the rear bumper cover does not match the rest of the car very well ---I really don't want to blend it into the quarters and trunk lid, but if I thought I could spray just the bumper and get a better match I would go ahead and repaint it. A place near me that mixes R-M had actual paint chips for this color and all of its alternates and one of them seemed to match my car very well----Would it be a waste of time shooting just the bumper hoping to get a better match???

Me personally i would get the best possible match and maybe tint it round depending on what comes of the scales. Seems to be alot more work to go into rear guards and bootlid..

Is your bumper lighter, darker? Do the metallics look finer or mre coarse than the car body? RM numbering system that itedifies the most common variant. The standard is the most common for your color.

I try not to blend 1/4's for a rear bumper replacement either. If you don't mind spending a little time you should be able to get it pretty close.

On the other hand I will blend fenders in a heartbeat for a front bumper. I can sand and tape 2 fenders in 20 minutes and I know it will match. 1/4's are more work.

bumpers don't match the vehicle from factory, so why sweat it.

your miss match will be closer

The rear bumper cover is lighter---the front looks the same as the rest of the car
--Unless you guys think its a complete waste of time \ money I will probably give it a try---If I remember correctly, it was one of the alternate chips that was the best match for my car--

If you want the practice then do it. Trade in is only 3600 if it has all the options and 80000 miles.
