I'm looking for a touch up gun mainly for blowing in jambs and what not. I'm looking at either a minijet or the devilbiss Sri pro. Any one using these have any recommendations.

I've got the mini jet ad never had any problems.

This is an interesting topic for me as Im also in the market for a mini/touch up gun.

i have a minijet 4 and love it has good pattern and very easy use at low pressure

i have never felt the build quality of the minjet matched its price imo the SRI is better built and also cheaper to service ,build quality has always been an issue with sata for me

pot lids crack and split like its big cousins ,fan splitter nobs often turn on thier key and also crack ,the quick guide on the gun body tends to split and i just dont like the fidjity air micrometre set up which is often stiff and way too small ,and as air micrometer nob is also plastic like the fan splitter nobs then they wont take a drop

imo they arent the best spraying mini guns about anyway and even the 1.2 imo struggles with clear compared to other similar guns i have used

as the SRI Pro is convertable between HVLP and Transtech it also has better options as the minijet is strictly HVLP

i much prefer the lay out of the SRI from the fan splitter to the air micrometre ,oh yes whilst we are at it the Sata fan splitter has always been cuased me problems as my thumb tends to rub against it and turns the fan down as i am spraying ,it has caught me out a few times and as they wear and loosen up the issue gets worse as the gun gets older

personaly if hadnt got the mini cheap and or i had to choose strictly between the Devil and the Sata it would be the Devil

my list of minis i would wholeheartidly recomend range from the ANI R1 HPS also sold as the Draper expert and also branded up for Kent amongst others ,the faithfull olde Walcom STM now superceded by the EGO model ,the Iwata W101 and i could also now recomend the Spanish made Aerometal Victoria mini guns ,i just scored one cheap off ebay and was pleasantly surprised at the overall build quality and the spray quality ,my one is the HVLP version with a 1.0 set up and even that set up seems to cope well with un thinned lesonal HS Extra although so far i have only done a couple of small jobs with it,availabilty may be an issue though

an 1.2 ANI R1 HPS/Draper expert absolutly lashes the clear on ,a whole bonnet is not unfeasable and i set my one up with a 600mlpot for clearing whole bikes and the sides of smaller cars however they are available with set ups down to 0.6 and also HVLP
the iwata 101 is bullet proof and also capable of clearing larger stuff ,the W300 is the centre post version and i thiink i would prefer it over the 101 for that reason

Having use both of the ones you mention Ben, I went for an Iwata LPH80 1.2 with E4 cap.

I find it a great little gun, and if I hadn't limited myself by opting for the 70CC cup I'd be using it for larger jobs. I have used it with 650ml PPS cups but it's very top heavy since the gun is so small it's almost toy like. With mini PPS I think I'd be onto a winner.
