This is part of a large mazda collision repair job where the tow truck drivers magnetic lights scratched the hood. After a bit of work we have it looking like new again.
First the scratches are sanded down with some 1500 grit paper on a 3 inch hutchins sander. Next the Coarser wool pad is popped on with some compound and removes the 1500 grit scratches. Afterwards I use the finer wool pad (green) and remove the coarser scratches from the black wool pad. A final going over with some swirl mark remover brings the hood to a high gloss, swirl free finish.
hi jimmo, could you give me an advice? i'm painting my motorcycle plastics, i made all necesary steps on prep, removed all paint to the plastic, took me about 2 months remove it cause is the first time i paint something, applied the adhesion promotor and 3 coats of black primer with a 1.4 nozzle and the finish primer was very very smooth, do i have to sand the primer any way? or just paint on it?
